Port Aventura is the most famous theme park in Spain, only an hour from Peñiscola, next to Tarragona. It is suitable for people of any age, and if you come with your family, you should spend a day here.

The park is divided into five themed areas and it also has a water park:
- Mediterrània, where you will find “la estación del Norte” (a train which goes over part of the park), the Hotel, many of the main shops and a nighttime show “Fiesta Aventura” (which is considered the best in the world).

 - Polynesia, where you will find “Sea Odyssey”, “Tutuki Splash” (a water show) and some restaurants. It also puts on shows like “Aloha Tahití”.

 - China, which includes the famous “Dragon Khan”. Here you can find the best performances; in particular “El misterio de Ping Chou” in the Imperial Theatre.

 - México, with its particular attraction “el templo del fuego” and the “Mexico embrujo y pasión” show, which takes place in the pyramid. You can eat in the “cantina” where you will also see the “mariachis” show.

- Far West, is the area devoted to the old American Far West.

- Costa Caribe is a water park located next to Port Aventura.


The park is open almost all year and there are several special festivals like the Carnival in February, Halloween in October-November and Christmas in December.

The parking lot is well organized and guarded, so you can easily travel by car and leave it here.
