Peñiscola is a traditional seaside town, which is reflected in its rich gastronomy, fish and seafood forming the basis of most of its recipes. You can try the well known, tasty paella, which mixes seafood with locally grown vegetables. However, you mustn’t forget to taste the many other wonderful dishes on offer, such as “suquet de peix” (a delicious fish stew) “arrosetjat” (rice cooked in fish broth), “all i pebre de rap” (a dish of monkfish cooked with spices and garlic), “fideua” (a seafood paella cooked with pasta), “remesclo” and the various ways in which fish such as sea bream and sea bass, as well as many types of seafood are cooked.
